case study #3
Behind the Scenes of the Wvcs 2023
In February 2023, I consulted with the Women's Venture Capital Summit to shape the event's agenda and recruit all the speakers.
The summit, held over 2.5 days in Half Moon Bay, California, brought together female LPs, GPs, and thought leaders for networking and discussions on pressing issues in the venture community.
Starting in late October 2022, I collaborated with the business team at With Intelligence
to help with sponsors and work with the events, marketing and speaker support teams.
Project Scope
My primary responsibilities included refining the agenda and recruiting speakers,
in less than five months.
Filled over half of the speaking slots by Christmas, and all remaining slots by late January.
Featured more than 100 speakers and over two dozen panels, keynotes and other activities.
Notable speakers included Ali Hartman of Tiger Global Impact Ventures, Cack Wilhelm of IVP, and Joanne Chen of Foundation Capital.
Theresia Gouw of Acrew Capital received a lifetime achievement award during the event.
Another notable speaker was Silicon Valley-based psychologist, Dr. Laura Kasper, who spoke about leadership and motivation.
Collaborated with the marketing team to create engaging social media content, emails, and LinkedIn posts to promote the event.
Achievements
Over 400 attendees and speakers, surpassing the previous year's numbers.
Nearly reached goal of 25% LP attendees, with a final count of 23%.
Met sponsorship fundraising targets.
Attendee feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with an average recommendation score of 9.2 out of 10; more than 30 respondents gave a perfect score of 10.
EVENT HIGHLIGHTS
Developed and executed an opening forum on boardroom diversity.
Organized an emerging manager event with a pitch contest judged by LPs, held in a packed conference room.
Demonstrated effective collaboration and meticulous planning, resulting in a successful summit that set a new benchmark for future events.
